Here's what I'm talking about!
Update: There is also a documentary version.
Also: Let it be noted that I came up with the Civil War/Vampires idea over a year ago in a comment on Kevin Levin's Civil War Memory blog. My lawyers will be contacting this Hatchet Book Group first thing Monday.

This was really cool. I shared it with my friends on facebook. I love it when they mix sci-fi and history! Don't tell anyone I've read all the Twilight and Sookie novels. lol.
Who DOES this stuff? It's so off, but so funny. I've decided I love public history.
This is hilarious, Larry! Are you using it in a course?
(HIST 666: Vampires in American History)
Anne, I am not sure this is any kind of history at all. But it is awesome.
Katrina, I like the way you think. Want to team-teach it? Reading List:
-Stoker, Dracula
-Poe, Bierce, and Lovecraft
-American Indian "windigo" myths
-Appalachian and Ozark folk tales of cannibalism, etc.
-primary docs from the Donner Party
-some Ann Rice shit
-some Twilight shit (with a field trip to Forks!)
-Abraham, Lincoln, Vampire Hunter
I'd love to Team Teach it! As long as I get to show episodes of True Blood ;)
Online instruction, here we come!...
I'm currently reading this. It's pretty good so far. The author chose to write it as a straight-forward "history" book, as opposed to a comedic novel. It's an interesting approach.
